Structural work completed

The Nová Juta project at Dělnická 11 in Prague’s Holešovice has reached another significant milestone. The street and courtyard buildings have reached their final height, and the building shell is officially completed. We celebrated this moment together with a traditional glaich, which symbolically closes one of the most important stages of construction.

It was a pleasant moment for the entire team, when we could stop for a moment, thank everyone involved in the construction, and together appreciate the work that is behind us. At the same time, however, we are definitely not slowing down – further follow-up work continues at Nová Juta, which gradually moves the project closer to its final form.

What is a glaich?

Glaich is a traditional construction celebration associated with the completion of the shell construction. It usually takes place when the construction reaches its highest level, and a decorated maypole or tree is symbolically placed on the roof. This custom is also a way of thanking all the craftsmen, technicians and other people who participate in the construction.

It is not only a symbolic moment, but also a reminder of how much work goes into each project before it even begins to take on its final form. The shell construction is a crucial milestone, which is then followed by other phases – from technical installations to windows and facades to interiors.

Nová Juta at Dělnická 11

The Nová Juta project is being built on the site of an original industrial building in Prague’s Holešovice, which will offer 60 rental apartments. The location on Dělnická Street gives the project a strong urban character and continues the transformation of the entire area, which in recent years has been one of the most distinctive parts of Prague.

After completing the shell construction, we continue on. We are currently implementing a contact insulation system, installing windows, working on the rough distribution of air conditioning, sewage and water, and at the same time assembling the steel structure together with the wooden structure of the hall building.

Nová Juta is gradually moving from the rough construction phase to the next layers of implementation. Each next step brings the project closer to the form of modern rental housing, which will be part of the new chapter of Dělnická Street.
